Well, The CW comic series Arrow and its potential subsequent spin-off has found its Barry Allen. After a narrow casting race where at least one other previous CW star's name was tossed around, the role ultimately went to glee's Grant Gustin. Warner Bros. confirmed the casting today for appearances to come later this season.
Barry Allen aka The Flash is a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.
Series star Amell has already Tweeted his congratulations to his new co-star, noting that he better start stretching his hamstrings immediately. But we imagine that's not the only thing he'll have to work out in order to keep up! Arrow, which is now in its second season, goes beyond big with its stunts, and Gustin is set to appear in three key episodes this year, 208, 209, and 220.
Arrow returns to The CW on October 9 2013 at 8 p.m. What do you think of Gustin's casting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
