An arrest has been made in the Sept. 13 stabbing incident involving a boxer named "Zoe," in Hialeah, Fla., reported Friday's CBS Miami News.
The injured dog's owner, Lisette Gonzalez, picked 39-year-old Jose Cespedes out of a line-up "without hesitation," identifying the man as the person who reached over her fence to stab Zoe in the back; Cespedes was arrested on Thursday night.
The vicious stabbing incident was captured on surveillance video, and since that time, a search has been underway for the individual who inflicted serious stab wounds to Gonzalez's pet.
Zoe's guardian had described what took place immediately following the stabbing.
"The dog chases after him and I come outside and I tell him, 'What did you do...' and I see that she has a knife sticking from her side."
Zoe survived, but was seriously injured by the knife. She required surgery and stitches to repair the wound.
Cespedes denies any involvement in the stabbing attack; he is being held on $26,000 bond.
