Chris Arreola (36-3, 31 KOs), made short work of his night by defeating Seth Mitchell (26-2-1, 19 KOs), by knockout in round-1 of the scheduled 12-round heavyweight bout last night in Indio, California. The featured bout was televised on Showtime from from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
Mitchell survied the count, but could not attack, nor defend the barrage of punches thrown by Arreola.
Referee, Jack Reiss made the right call stopping the action at 2:26 of round-1.
For Arreola, it's a new chapter in his boxing career, he is more serious and focused as a fighter. Arreola did much of his training for this fight in Phoenix, getting some good sparring in with fighters such as Rico Hoye.
The win over Mitchell nets the WBC International and the WBO NABO heavyweight titles, previously owned by Seth Mitchell.
