I had the pleasure of attending two short plays last weekend at The Phoenix Theatre in San Francisco. Arousal and The Lover are brought to us by the Virago Theatre Company.
Arousal is the story of how the lives of the unlikely pair, a prostitute and a virgin, become intertwined to the benefit of each. The play is by George Pfirrmann, a playwright who won Best of Fringe at the 2010 San Francisco Fringe Festival.
The second, The Lover, toys with the ramification of the sexy role play engaged in by a married English couple. This play was written by one of Britain's greatest and most influential playwrights, Harold Pinter.
The venue, The Phoenix Theatre, is a wonderfully intimate setting. Every seat is great!
Both plays feature Laura Lundy-Paine and John Steen, who are outstanding.
I highly suggest you check out these plays for a wonderful night of entertainment.
Arousal and The Lover run back to back September 6-28th on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm at the Phonenix Theatre. It is located at 414 Mason Street, 6th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94102.
