WNSH still continues on without disc jockeys. But Cumulus has announced a major acquistion. Maire Mason has been named General Sales Manager for their New York City cluster which includes WNSH, WABC and WPLJ. Mason comes to Cumulus from Merlin Media where she was Director of Sales. Mason is best known for her time as general manager of WCBS FM. Under her guidance, that station had some of their best moments and greatest success.
John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman will return to call Yankee games on WCBS radio again this year. Sterling has been doing Yankee play-by-play since 1989 and has never missed a game. Waldman joined Sterling on the broadcasts in 2005.
From our "where are they now" file, Chunky, former night man at 92.3 Now has landed in Philadelphia. He first landed as a counter man at a cheese steak restaurant called "Pat's King of Steaks." He will now move to the morning show at WRDW (Wired 96.5). To celebrate, the restaurant threw a going away party for their former employee by giving away 96 free cheesesteaks.
Jill Strada, best known in New York for her time as PD/MD at 98.7 Kiss and MD at Hot 97, has been named APD and Digital Media Brand Manager at WTKK (The New Hot 96.9) in Boston.
