Aromatherapy Guide: Essential Oil of Eucalyptus

There are hundreds of different types of Eucalyptus trees, but only a few species are used for essential oil production.  Essential oils can be used for a number of natural remedies which are much kinder to your body than harsh medications.  To benefit from these oils try them in baths, lotions, shower gells, or simply apply directly to the skin.  Here are some of the benefits Eucalyptus has to offer:

  • For the skin, Eucalyptus is effective in treating pimples, boils, head lice, and is often used as a bug repellent.
  • For the muscles, Eucalyptus reduces swelling, aches, pains, and arthritis (hint: use in a warm bath for the best results).
  • Emotionally, Eucalyptus can  be a great stress reliever while clearing the mind and awakening the senses.
  • Eucalyptus also helps cleanse and strengthen kidney functions.
  • Eucalyptus oils are also extremely beneficial for respiratory effects.  Eucalyptus steam rooms are great for coughs, congestion, and sinuses.
