Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns to Showbiz

He always promises "I'll be back" in many of his films and he always delivers.  This time the actor and former California governor will be back to star in his own cartoon and comic book series with the help of comics legend Stan Lee.  In a recent Entertainment Weekly article, Schwarzenegger says "It takes my entire career, if its body building, if it’s acting, if its’ the governorship and combines it into one,” Schwarzenegger said in a video interview posted on EW’s site. “The Governator is designed to fight crime, to fight natural disasters…this guy will jump and solve the problems.”

The forthcoming series and subsequent comic book is looking for a release date some time in 2012 and is a distant second to the foreign-born American citizen's dream of being U.S. President.  (For anyone not in the know, only Americans born on American soil can run for President.)  “Otherwise, I wouldn’t be standing here in a leather jacket, I’d be dressed up in a suit,” Schwarzenegger said. He added that he has not yet informed his wife, Maria Schriver of the animated Governator project. “I think it will be a big surprise for her,” he said.

Stan Lee revealed that, in the series, Schwarzenegger will take on the mantle of crime fighter after his term as governor has expired.  As the Governator, he builds an Arnold Cave as a "secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”  This fictitious caricature of the actor turned politician will see his new alter ego battle evil organizations such as the Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons (or G.I.R.L.I.E. Men).  The stories will also include real-life people including Shriver and Schwarzenegger’s children.

As this is Arnold's next career move, it seems he's talking literally everything he's ever done (body building, starring in action and kid flix, and politics) and creating the perfect amalgam storyline that can only be done in the animated and comic book genres.
