‘Army Wives’ announces season 7 premiere date

When “Army Wives” aired its season 6 finale on Sept. 9, 2012 the future of the show was still a bit uncertain, and fans were left wondering what to believe. After much back and forth, the series eventually got the nod for a seventh season later in Sept., telling fans to “stay tuned” for a season 7 premiere date. And, finally the wait is over, as season 7 of ‘Army Wives’ is scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2013. The Lifetime series is set to run 13 new episodes this year.

Given that we’re already knocking on February’s door, the “Army Wives” premiere will be here before we know it. We can only speculate about what to expect when the series returns, as you’ll recall the LeBlancs exited stage right – or left – as they headed West, leaving Fort Marshall behind, but more than that we were left with an airplane in distress that was holding far too many fan favorites.

Looking forward to season 7 of “Army Wives,” the show’s blog has been keeping us up to date about the slew of guest stars/new cast members we’ll be treated to during this upcoming season. We can expect to see: Brooke Shields, singer Jesse McCartney, Burgess Jenkins (“Nashville), Broadway star Joshua Henry, Torrey DeVitto (“Pretty Little Liars,” “One Tree Hill”), Broadway star Elle McLemore, and singer Ashanti are all slated to make appearances throughout this upcoming season of “Army Wives.”

As far as who are the new TV moms to watch, you’ll want to keep your eye on DeVitto who will play Maggie Hall mom to a 10 and 14-year-old. Ashanti is joining the cast as “a strict mother of three whose main goal is to get as much fun as possible out of life…while keeping her kids and husband in line,” according to Kim Messina of the “Army Wives” blog.

What do all of these fresh faces mean for the “Army Wives” who started it all? We can only mark those calendars and plan to tune in for the season 7 premiere of “Army Wives” on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 9 p.m./8 c. on Lifetime.
