This morning, the Department of Defense announced the death Staff Sgt. Thomas A. Baysore, Jr. who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Baysore, Jr., 31, of Milton, Pa., died Sept. 26, 2013, in Paktya Province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire during combat operations.
Marty Horn, owner of the AnySoldier.com site, released information this morning that Baysore was the 100th Any Soldier contact loss.
The site indicates that Baysore was an infantry squad leader whose name and contact information had been requested 73 times on this deployment, which was not his first.
He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.
