An Army general was fired for alcohol and sexual misconduct charges. On April 4, Washington Post reported Maj. Gen. Ralph Baker, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa has been relieved of his post.
They are saying that his pay was docked as well, but will not say how much. He also does plan to appeal the decision. His charges do include harassment and inappropriate contact, but they are really not allowed to say a lot about it at this time.
Baker is back in Wash. and now working as a special assistant to the director of the Army staff. That is what he will be doing until a decision is made on the case. He was already scheduled to leave his job in Africa soon, but was relieved early.
It will be interesting to see if Maj. Ralph Baker is able to get them to change the charges or drop them. More than likely they will end up staying on his record. Sexual misconduct charges are not taken lightly.
