Armstrong’s greed ruined people’s lives is he still a legend

Is financial gain worth the price of your soul? Frankie Andreu, captain of the US Postal Cycling Team and his wife Betsy testified against the power-tripping Armstrong in 2005. Andreu says he and his wife were attacked vehemently by Armstrong and his supporters for speaking out in total honesty about his past doping and team operations. Being a legend is not about the people you step on your way up the ladder, it’s how many people you help along the way.

“You admire the man who pushes his way to the top in any walk of life, while we admire the man who abandons his ego.” - From the movie, "Seven Years in Tibet."

Is tough fighting for you good name on a daily basis

Betsy Andreu was the first to speak out against Armstrong and go public with the teams doping schemes. Their lives were sabotaged repeatedly for speaking what is now recognized as the truth. Betsy testified in a case by SCA Promotions that would challenge a multi-million dollar bonus to be pain to Armstrong in 2005.

Betsy said Armstrong admitted doping in Indiana hospital room in 1996

Mrs. Andreu quoted Armstrong as saying he had taken many performance enhancing drugs before. “We were put through the ringer for some 8-10 years and it wasn’t fair. It weighs you down emotionally and physically. It took away from our family, and it takes all your energy. In the end we did the right thing. We bypassed financial gain for peace within.”
