Armstrong doping allegations excusing inexcusable behavior

The pressure is on. The President of British Cycling Brian Cookson, wants names and full disclosure. “ hope he tells the whole truth. Let’s have the truth, not innuendos and half-truths. If he has to name names, then tell it all like it happened.” Armstrong needs to be an open book if there is any way to repairing his relationship with the public, sponsors, press and those closest to what was going on. He needs to get back in the game and contribute rather than hide. There’s not going to be a thunderbolt of forgiveness, but it’s a choice he has to make to show us he has learned his lessons in a positive way.

The most sophisticated, professional doping ring ever

Jamie Fuller President of Change Cycling Now Campaign, who urged Armstrong to “fight it or confess it” from the start “ Armstrong needs to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Full public acknowledgment.” Dealing with the aftermath isn’t going to be easy. He need’s to make the right decision, he needs to make the decision right.

No contest

Armstrong has denied doping allegations for years now and didn’t contest to the United States anti-doping authorities that he was guilty.

Bare his soul and tell the unvarnished truth

Enablers. A liar can’t be successful unless he has somebody buying into his story. Everyone bought and paid, and believed in the story. Did we allow it to continue? How do you change your relationship with a liar? You teach people how to treat you and you can’t change what you don’t acknowledge. Lance Armstrong strongly misrepresented things to the public and Olympic officials, the press, and his sponsors. He was the distorted filter and totally lost.

Armstrong has a bad trait

Shattered trust. Contaminated relationship. Complete honesty at the start is the only way to enter into another relationship with the public. If he lies again it will be found out. The public’s relationship with Lance Armstrong has been ruined by his doping lies and schemes. Lance has hurt a world full of people some more deeply and closely than others. He can’t change what he isn’t willing to acknowledge in the first place.

Stop excusing Armstrong’s inexcusable behavior

Betrayal. Allowing Armstrong to lie was allowing him to continue a deceitful relationship with his fans and public. Making excuses for Armstrong and blaming others needs to stop. Armstrong needs to stand in his own personal truth. It’s not just what he did, it’s what he didn’t do. Does Armstrong need professional help? If the public knew then what we know now, would we believe him again?
