Located at 2048 Larimer Street in the Ballpark District, “Armoury” will offer beer from Colorado and Europe, spirits heavy on browns and a food menu featuring fresh, made from scratch salads, soups, sandwiches and pizza. Armoury is a collaboration between Juan Padró, Kevin Eddy, Brad Beale and Kris Slocum of Highland Tap & Burger as well as Kris Baehre, the former owner of Highland Tavern. Baehre is a managing partner and will be running the day-to-day operations at the pub.
“Baehre is a lifelong fan of soccer, European culture and a supporter of the local indie music scene,” said Juan Padró, owner of Armoury, Highland Tap & Burger, LoHi Productions and partner in Old Major. “Baehre is the perfect person to run the pub as the concept combines both of his passions as well as his restaurant management and expertise.”
Soccer (football) will be broadcast on four 50” flat screens and a 7-foot Big Screen with surround sound is available upon request. Armoury will open as early as 6:00 a.m. weekend game days and will host Colorado Rapids “watch” parties with bus service to and from Rapid home games. Soccer will be the focal point during premier league, champions league, world cup and MLS matches. The big screen rolls up to reveal a live music stage that will be home to local emerging indie, soul, funk and reggae groups. On the weekends, DJs will be spinning everything from 50s music to contemporary house, with the occasional dose of national touring acts performing on their way through Denver.
Executive Chef Brian Laird, formerly of Barolo Grill, has crafted the perfect ‘euro pub’ menu including: fresh, made-to-order salads, sandwiches, meat and cheese platters, flatbread pizzas (using locally sourced ingredients — including Polidori sausage) as well as homemade daily soups. Armoury will also show support of local artists by regularly hosting shows and displaying artist’s work for purchase.
“Our guests are going to love the food along with the bar menu and amazing ‘old world’ pub atmosphere,” said Padró. “They can have a drink, watch a match, listen to music, grab a bite, look at art, invite some friends and make some new ones.”
Armoury is open for dinner 7 days a week and will close at 2:00 a.m. The restaurant will be open for lunch Wednesday - Friday at 11:00 a.m. and for breakfast and lunch on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:00 a.m., for the early soccer matches. Happy Hour features: $2.00, $3.00 & $4.00 drafts, drinks and shot specials from open to 8:00 p.m., 6 days a week and all day on Sunday. Armoury will feature a different Drink Special every night — including “Colorado Wednesday’s” featuring local music and $1.00 off all Colorado brews, spirits and wines.
