The Pit barbecue restaurants have had an unfortunate week.
According to The Herald-Sun, the Durham location of the popular whole-hog barbecue restaurant was robbed last night at gunpoint. Three armed suspects entered The Pit located at 321 West Geer Street through the rear doors before 9 p.m. and assaulted two employees. The report states that no medical attention was needed and that the suspects got away by foot.
Raleigh’s location of The Pit also suffered a kitchen fire last Thursday. According to The News and Observer, no one was hurt in the fire and the restaurant did not undergo significant damage. The Pit was closed Thursday night but reopened the next day.
