A witness who drove by the station right after the robbery said there were about seven police cars on the scene. The police were also seen with a canine sniffing around the store and pumps.
When an employee who was standing outside the police line was asked about the robbery, they were noticeably shaken-up. Thankfully, no-one was injured during the robbery.
According to the district manager, this is the fourth robbery in about a year to happen at the Shell station.
The police say they are searching for a white male, there were no further details available because the investigation is on-going.
This Examiner was the first reporter on the scene and was soon joined by Brian Johnson of WTVY out of Dothan. Johnson said he was at the Ozark courthouse when he got a text about the robbery.
Some interesting facts about what is currently happening in our nation are as follows:
- The United States has fallen in the global economic competitiveness rankings compiled by the World Economic Forum for four years in a row (NY Times).
- Cities like Detroit have become literal war zones; police have cautioned folks to "enter Detroit at your own risk."
- Back in 1950, more than 80 percent of all men in the United States had jobs. Today, less than 65 percent of all men in the United States have jobs.
These are only a few things that are happening in our nation, there are many more but too numerous to list in this article. Is the reason our nation seems to be on the decline because of the abandoning of God by our society? What does the bible say about those who refuse to acknowledge God?
Proverbs chapter one makes it clear what happens when God calls and that call is unheeded.
"I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention. You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered. So I will laugh when you are in trouble. I will mock you when disaster overtakes you, when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster engulfs you like a cyclone, and anguish and distress overwhelm you.
When they cry for help, I will not answer. Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me. For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord. They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them. Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes."
There is good news though, and it's found in 2 Chronicles 7:14 and it says,
"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land."
There will undoubtedly still be scoffers about America's decline, but God's word makes it very clear that those who reject him will be rejected by him.
