Update 9/18/13: According to ABC News, the FBI has joined in the search effort for the teen who was abducted on Tuesday.
FBI Agent Mark Giuliano stated:
Our absolute, number one priority is the safe return of a 14-year-old, innocent girl.
A nationwide Amber Alert has been issued for a teen who was abducted at gunpoint from her home in Ellenwood, Ga., reported Tuesday's New York Daily News.
Around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, two armed men broke into the residence on Brookgate Drive, shot the family dog, and forced 14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez to leave with them. The men had demanded money and jewelry from Perez's mother, but she had nothing to give to them.
The suspects are described as black men, in their 20s. One of the men is 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, and the other is around 6 feet tall with a slim build.
In a press conference, Clayton County police Officer Phong Ngyuen stated:
We are extremely concerned, because if anybody could hurt a puppy just like this, what else could they do. We are very concerned,"
The teen abducted by the suspects was last seen wearing blue-and-grey Star Wars pajama pants and a blue-and-grey superhero shirt; the girl is 4 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 93 pounds.
The men drove away in a grey Dodge or Chevrolet - the girl is said to be in "grave danger."
