Armed man holds 5 people hostage in Virginia post office with strange device. An armed man walked into a post office in Wytheville, Virginia at 2:30 pm Wednesday and fired a shot. The disabled gunman is holding five people hostage inside the post office (three postal workers and two customers). No injuries have been reported, according to CNN.
The mayor of the town has reported that the man has some sort of “device” and his car, which is parked outside is also equipped with a “device.” The area around the post office has been evacuated.
Wytheville has a population of approximately 8,000 people. KSL in Salt Lake City reported that the streets were filled with about 8,500 people earlier today who were Christmas shopping.
