Arlington holding three skate park public meetings

The City of Arlington is holding three public meetings over proposed skate parks in three city parks.

Each of the three parks—and proposed skating facilities—has its own meeting. Dates, times, and locations are listed below:

Burl L. Wilkes Park Skatespot. Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hugh Smith Recreation Center, 1814 New York Ave. This park project includes, in addition to the skatespot, a looped trail, pavilion, landscaping, and signage. Burl L. Wikes Park is located at 1300 Hillcrest Dr. Jason Landrem is the project manager, and he can be reached at 817-459-5489.

Randol Mill Park Skate Facility. Meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Wimbish Elementary School, 1601 Wright St (at the corner of Randol Mill and Fielder Roads). The skate facility at this park is planned for the old playground location. Randol Mill Park is located at 1901 W. Randol Mill Rd. Vandergriff Park Skate Park. Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. Construction is scheduled to begin on this skate park in fall, with a spring 2013 completion date. Vandergriff Park is located at 2800 S. Center St. Jason Landrem, 817-459-5489, is the project manager.
