Just like Project Runway clothing design contestants have corporate sponsorships for some of their design projects, the Audi Dealership in Arlington offered cash prizes for artists helping to celebrate their Audi Arlington Grand Opening. Fifteen artists participated in the event to paint Audi theme artwork that was time-constrained to two weeks.

According to Beth Hudgins, president of Arlington Artists Alliance, “At least eight of those artists were accepted, and the works will be on view at Audi Arlington's new showroom located at 3200 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204 at their Grand Opening Celebration. The new showroom / pop up art gallery will be open between the hours of 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday , February 13th-14th, and the hours of 9 a.m. -7 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th. Cash prizes will be awarded on February 16th, 2014 from 1-2 p.m. during the awards ceremony. The public is invited to come in and view the artwork.”

This is a great example of how local businesses can support the arts, so thanks to Audi Arlington.
