Warner Bros., the company behind the Batman games “Arkham Asylum” and “Arkham City,” has registered a list of new sites related to the Arkham theme, which means a sequel to the games may be on the way, reveal Jan. 13, 2013 media reports.
The website Neoseeker writes that the purchasing of multiple sites could just mean that Warner Bros. is strategically making sure their intellectual property is not compromised, and no video games may be in the works.
Neoseeker notes the domains registered are ArkhamUniverse.com; BatmanArkhamUniverse.com; BatmanArkhamArises.com; BatmanArkhamBegins.com; BatmanArkhamDarkKnight.com; BatmanArkhamKnight.com; BatmanArkhamLegend.com; BatmanArkhamLegends.com; BatmanArkhamNIght.com; BatmanArkhamOrigins.com; BatmanArkhamStories.com; DarkKnightArkham.com; DCArkhamUniverse.com; DCArkhamVerse.com; and TheArkhamUniverse.com.
MarkMonitor, the domain management company that takes care of the Warner Bros. web presence, registered each of the domains, so it is unclear if the company actually owns them, according to Warp Zoned.
The website reports that instead of a planned sequel, the domains may have been registered to promote a product that has no connection to video games, but only time will tell.
