Arkansas tornado lost pets:2 dogs/1 cat missing in Vilonia after home leveled

Update: Cat found dead not Tammy's missing cat. Keep fingers crossed.

UPDATE from Tammy: "Just got a call that the brown dog Fiera has been found and is safe at a clinic. Still looking for the black lab and Siamese cat. The tag on the dog has a phone number, but the phone was lost in the tornado. The number on the tag is 501-425-8642. Please contact me here."

A Siamese cat has been found dead across from the church, but hasn't been identified as the cat in this article.

Two dogs and a cat are missing after the Arkansas tornadoes devastated the area, this Facebook page reported.

Tammy Kemple Rands posted that her sister lives in Vilonia and is missing her two dogs and cat. The dogs were in crates-a black lab mix dog with a bobbed tail and a medium size brown dog.

The cat is long haired Siamese that has been shaved down a bit. The tail is still fluffy. Dogs were wearing tags, but not microchipped. Tammy's sister lost their house, which was leveled, but they are hoping for a miracle that their pets are safe.

Please contact Tammy here if found.

This Facebook group page is assisting, with information on rescue groups, where to have pets scanned or treated and other up to date information. Residents who find an animal are asked to hold onto it until it's owner is located.

Please leave a phone number where you can be reached. Don't depend on people being able to reach you on Facebook.

Also remember to be very careful who you release a "found" pet to. Sadly, in other disasters, people have taken advantage of the situation and taken custody of pets that did not belong to them..

People who have lost everything don't need to deal with nefarious folks also.. These disasters bring out people who scam, so please beware.

If a pet is reunited with its owner, please post the story I've done on my Facebook wall saying we were successful.
