Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre announces 2013 season and auditions

The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre has announced its 2013 and has scheduled a couple of auditions for that season. All the details are below.


AST announces dates and locations for general auditions for the 2013 season: Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, Oliver!, and a Theatre for Young Audiences’ adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Monday, December 10th and Tuesday, December 11th from 6-10 pm
Reynolds Performance Hall on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas

Little Rock
Tuesday, December 4th from 4-8 pm
Haslip Theatre on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock

To schedule an appointment for any of the above auditions, e-mail your headshot and resume to Actors should prepare two contrasting classical monologues (at least one of which must be by Shakespeare) no longer than two minutes each, as well as 16 bars of a song if they would like to be considered for the musical. An accompanist will be provided for Conway and Chicago auditions only. Separate auditions will be held at a later date for youth (17 and under) who wish to audition for the season.

Actors will need to be available from May 12-June 30, 2013. AST operates on an U/RTA Tier I contract, and non-equity actors are able to join the EMC program and earn points.
