The September 2014 events sanctioned by the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission are highlighted by:

  • Grand Prairie Civil War Roundtable will feature Bill Arnold speaking on DeValls Bluff on September 9 at the Lonoke County Museum in Lonoke; email misslata@sbcglobal.net for additional information.
  • Civil War Round Table of Arkansas will feature its president, Jan Sarna, speaking on the Confederate raid on St. Albans, Vermont, when it meets at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock on September 23; email brianb1578@aol.com for more information.
  • "Civil War Arkansas 1861-1865," the ACWSC traveling exhibit, will be at the Texarkana Public Library September 29 through October 12; call 903-794-2149 or email acoleman@cabkeone.net for more information.
  • "Washington 1864: Conflict on the Doorstep," an exhibit on the capital of Confederate Arkansas in the final months of the Civil War, will continue at Historic Washington State Park through September; call 870-983-2226 or email HistoricWashington@arkansas.com for more information.
