Arizona's immoral "papers please" immigration law cost the state $141 million in the last four months according to a recently released study. Arizona has been facing a global boycott since passing SB 1070, a backward and draconian measure that many consider to be openly racist.
According to CBS, the study, an economic impact analysis commissioned by the Center for American Progress, put hotel industry losses during the first four months after the signing at about $45 million. Visitors would have spent an additional $96 million during their stays, said Angela Kelley, the group's vice president for immigration and advocacy.
The study estimates that the boycott will cost the state nearly 2,800 jobs over the next two to three years. Those job losses are expected to trigger over a quarter billion dollars in lost economic output and more than $86 million in lost wages.
Across the nation good and decent Americans joined forces by boycotting Arizona in an attempt to send a clear message that the anti-immigrant madness that has taken root in Arizona is morally unacceptable.
The law represents a moral failure on the part of the Arizona legislature and Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer. The law is an attempt to reduce Mexican Americans to second class citizens. The law represents a victory of fear and ignorance over truth, justice and the good.

Well putting up a border fence is going to be racist. Wanting to take action because....
1. Phoenix is the number two capital in the world in kidnapings behind Mexico City.
2. The farmer murdered by the drug cartels.
3. Agent Robert Rosas was murdered by drug cartels on "OUR" side of the border.
But we're all racist because we want to protect ourselves, becauce the Feds won't.
As regards to Moral Failure, why is it we have a freeze on Border Patrol Agents, but we're sending money to the Hamas on the Isreali Border?

My responce: "You should move with in five miles of the southern border (like myself and others) and get a good look at the local papers reporting on the Hangings and beheading in T.J."
Last report was 60% support the SB1070 law. I'll be proud to go on line and prder things from Arizona, because unlike my state of California, at least someone has a spine to stand up.
Why is no other metrics used in these calculations? Like the amount saved from all the illegals leaving?
If you want to see true racism, check out how Mexico treats anyone who is in there country illegally.
I would not take anything that comes from the Center for American Progress very serious, they are a biased ultra-progressive group,Mikeys kind of people.
The lost money in the hotel business is more than likely due to the places now being understaffed since the illegals are afraid to work without the CORRECT papers, that we as legal Americans carry all the time!!
