Scottsdale’s mid-century classic, Hotel Valley Ho, offers a variety of ways to celebrate the arrival of 2014, including a ballroom bash.
The New Year’s Eve ballroom party (tickets start at $125) features a three-hour open bar, hors d’oeuvres and full buffet. Music is by DJs Decipha, Xcalibur and DJ Moose. Midnight will bring champagne toasts and the requisite eruption of confetti.
Another option: a four-course champagne dinner at Zuzu, Valley Ho's signature restaurant, including a rooftop toast at midnight. Seatings are at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. and range from $110 to $140 per person.
Rooms over the New Year’s holiday are offered a special rate. Phone (480) 248-2000 to reserve.
Valley Ho, a mid-century star
The Valley Ho opened in December, 1956 to great acclaim, and underwent an $80 million renovation, re-opening in 2005 with a new tower. Classic mid-century exterior and interior elements were meticulously restored and renewed. The property is now considered one of the best-preserved mid-century hotels in the U.S.
