An Arizona mother has been arrested for killing her teen daughter and trying to kill the rest of her family. Along with being charged with the murder of her teen daughter, Connie Villa is accused of trying to kill her three young children and her ex-husband, Adam Villa. The ex-husband got away after Connie Villa stabbed him numerous times, according to ABC News via Yahoo on Dec. 29.

Villa called her ex-husband and asked him to come over to her Casa Grande home on Christmas Day. When he arrived, she stabbed him numerous times in the torso. He managed to get away and called police as he drove himself to the hospital.

When police arrived at Connie Villa’s home they found 13-year-old Aniarael Macias, Villa’s daughter, dead in the bathroom. The teen had no visible signs of injury and an autopsy proved inconclusive, so her cause of death is unknown at this time. The three younger children ages 3, 5 and 8, were found alive and they had no wounds.

The children were were taken to the hospital and tests showed they had trace amounts of opiates in their systems. Police believe that Connie Villa was trying to poison her children. Adam Villa is the father of the three kids, who were placed with his relatives as he recuperates in the hospital from his stab wounds.

When police arrived at Connie Villa’s home she had stabbed herself in the torso and she had the knife to her chest when the police broke down the door to get into the apartment.

Villa was arrested for the Christmas day death of her teen daughter. She is charged with first degree murder. The investigation is on-going and she faces four charges of attempted murder for trying to kill her three children and ex-husband. Adam Villa is not the biological father of Aniarael. The teen’s biological father has been working with investigators since she was discovered dead.
