Arizona Bike Week builds up slowly (with photos)

Vendors we spoke with today say Arizona Bike Week is in fact a two-day rally, Friday and Saturday, so the sparse crowds so far are typical. Whatever the reason, this five official day event continues today at only a low simmer. In fact, with Skid Row as the musical headliner last night and a lesser-known group headlining tonight, Warrant, attendance is off. Parking lots that were crowded last night at this time have plenty of space going begging tonight.

Not that there aren't crowds and people aren't spending. In fact, Diva Amy of Team Diva reported that her business has been quite good, but just at night. During the day it's time to twiddle thumbs. For many of the vendors, in truth, this is just a small stop on the way to the big show in Laughlin soon, the Laughlin River Run.

The day started off with the 6th Annual T-Bar Trail Ride. Manufacturers offering demo rides, which includes Kawasaki, Yamaha/Star, Boss Hoss, Can-Am, and Harley-Davidson, did a brisk business all day long.

Still, this is Scottsdale, AZ, and even in March that means heat. With temperatures approaching 100 today it's no surprise that people don't start to venture out until the sun sets.
