Arise Detroit, for you are royalty!

The title should put a spring in your step, brighten your day, and etch a smile upon your face. The best part of that phrase is the fact that it is true. According to God's Word, all of us that belong to Him are royalty. The proof is in Romans 8:17, "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory".

Take note that we must also share in His sufferings to share in His glory. Remember, for His suffering, He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. As co-heirs with Him, we will also be with the Father. Our suffering is another opportunity for God to move His mighty Hand. God will alleviate your suffering to show His awesome power, and those around you will see the wonders of His mercy.

Our part of being royalty is to live like royalty. We are to act like children of the King, because we are! We are to make our best efforts to live according to the Spirit, and to shun living acording to the flesh. We see this in the surrounding context of Romans 8:17, "Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory".

So, I implore you to live like royalty, to give God all glory for your treasures, and show others that they can have what we possess.

Until next time, may God bless and keep you, and may His face shine upon you. To our Lord be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever. Amen.
