At the age of 10, she discovered her musical talent. At An inspiring and motivated 17 years old, Arika Kane decided she was ready to pursue her dream. Arika decided that it was time for a change in her life.
She wanted to showcase her talent for everybody to see and hear. Fast forward, and now Arika is signed to BSE Recordings.
Growing up in Connecticut as a child, Arika was surrounded by musical influences in her own family. As a child, she would watch her parents work a regular 40 hour per week job, while some how able to pursue their dreams as performers in the music business.
"Mariah Carey was one of my biggest inspirations growing up," said Kane. She also is inspired by India Arie's vocal style.
Arika received her first big break in the industry when she met a record producer in south Connecticut. The meeting went extremely well, and the producer explained to Arika that a new record label was looking for that next big female superstar vocalist.
In November of 2009, Arika opened for the "One World Tour." This tour features such acts as Babyface, Charlie Wilson, and Frankie Beverly and Maze.
Arika is excited to promote her self titled debut album, "Arika Kane," and get ready for the launch of her new video, " 4 the Lovers," on March 30.
Arika hopes to go on tour sometime this summer, and hopefully make stops in the Baltimore and Washington DC area. Watch out for this great artist, she will not disappoint.
