This past week, R&B singer Ariana Grande has been on a promotion grind, letting the world know of her new album, "Yours Truly." She dropped by "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Friday night to re-imagine some rap hits in a Broadway style. This is definitely one of her more noteworthy TV appearances so far.
Instead of singing any material on "Yours Truly," Grande teamed up with Fallon to sing some rap hits in a very Broadway fashion. The powerhouse singer sat on a piano while Jimmy played along in a long blonde wig. The first hit they tackled was Jay Z's "99 Problems" which later led into Cypress Hill's "Insane in the Membrane." Grande stretched out the notes on these classic tracks with her big voice. She really shined, though, on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop." Ariana gave the track's original singer Wanz a run for his money when she belted, "This is f*cking awesome!"
In other Ariana news, she recently released her '90s-inspired music video for "Baby I." The single follows her breakout hit "The Way." Both tracks are included on Grande's superb debut album, "Yours Truly," which dropped on Tuesday.
