Arian Foster & heart procedure: Current decision on surgery revealed

Arian Foster and questions involving whether he'll have a heart procedure done have gone crazy. According to a Feb. 1 report, the Houston Texans running back and general manager, Rick Smith, addressed his current stand on having any type of surgical procedure done.

“Thank you for all the concern,” Foster said. “As of now, I have no complications with my blood pumper. I have not, nor do I plan, anytime in the near future to have conversations with my doctors about any surgery.”

Foster noted that a small conversation with a journalist was blown out of proportion.

“There was a casual conversation with a reporter about my particular condition that turned public,” Foster added. “I am feeling well and am as exuberant as ever.

"Love and light to all those concerned."

What drew attention to Arian Foster's heart issues was the fact he had to sit out part of a game against Minnesota last season due to an irregular heartbeat.

Rick Smith told reporters he's happy with where Foster is with the team.

“We’re comfortable with where he is,” Smith said. “Our medical team continues to monitor it. He missed one-half of a practice and one-half of a game, and our doctors treated him. We always monitor (Foster). He’s fine.”
