US Weekly reported today that Ben Affleck shaved off the trademark beard he has been sporting since he filmed “Argo.” Affleck had previously called the beard his good luck charm and it certainly worked out for him on Sunday when “Argo” snagged the award for best picture. Afterwards Ben found himself shaving in the hallway outside the bathroom at Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood according to a report by TMZ.
One aspect of the story many fans hope gets corrected is the mention of Ben doing celebratory shots with his wife Jennifer Garner, George Clooney and other friends.
Affleck confessed he had a problem with alcohol and entered rehab in 2001 according to People magazine.
At the time his spokesman David Pollick said, “Ben is a self-aware and smart man who had decided that a fuller life awaits him without alcohol. He has chosen to seek out professional assistance, and is committed to traveling a healthier road with the support of his family, friends and fans.”
