'Argo', 'Homeland' continue dominance at Screen Actors Guild Awards

So much for "Lincoln" dominating awards season. Sure Steven Spielberg's epic drama about America's 16th POTUS picked up a couple more acting awards at last night's SAG Awards but it was "Argo" that once again came in and stole the thunder from the Honest Abe celebration. "Argo" came away with the big prize of the night, winning Best Ensemble cast.

Daniel Day-Lewis and Tommy Lee Jones won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively, for their roles in "Lincoln". Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress for "Silver Linings Playbook", while Anne Hathaway took home yet another Best Supporting Actress trophy for her powerful turn in "Les Misérables".

A few weeks ago, when "Lincoln" was awarded 12 Academy Award nominations, it was seen as the odds on favorite to win a majority of not only acting awards but Best Picture statues as well. That hasn't been the case. "Argo" also won the Best Picture award at the Golden Globes and has to be going into the Oscars on February 24 as the new leader in the clubhouse.

On the TV side, "Downton Abbey" won Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, while "Modern Family" won for Best Ensemble for a Comedy Series.
