'Argo' and 'Life of Pi' win big at the 85th Academy Awards

Tonight the 85th annual Academy Awards aired on ABC. Seth MacFarlane hosted with a rather interesting opener, but who would have expected anything else out of MacFarlane. A tribute to fifty years of James Bond helped to ignite the spark of the evening. Performances of musicals from the last decade, including "Chicago," "Dreamgirls" (Jennifer Hudson's performance was amazing) and "Les Miserables" added some extra musical elements to the evening. Adele gave a terrific performance of "Skyfall." Barbra Streisand gave a touching performance of "The Way We Were" which accompanied the end of the in memoriam.

There were many sure things that won for certain categories, such as Anne Hathaway and Quentin Tarantino. However, there were also some slight surprises with Chris Terrio rightfully winning Best Adapted Screenplay for "Argo" and Ang Lee won for Directing "Life of Pi." Jennifer Lawrence deservingly won for Best Actress and the amazing Daniel Day Lewis won his third Oscar in the Best Actor category. "Argo" wins for Best Picture, continuing its winning streak.
