Fans of the Argetsinger Vineyard no doubt will be pleased to know that the iconic parcel will never be turned over to land developers.

The vineyard, which has been in the Argetsinger family for more than a century, provides grapes that are a core element of top quality wines from Ravines Wine Cellars.

Due to the combined efforts of current owner Sam Argetsinger as well as the Schuyler County government, the state Department of Agriculture & Markets and the Finger Lakes Land Trust, the vineyard has been incorporated into the Land Trust as an area protected from future development. It overlooks the southeastern shore of Seneca Lake, near Hector, Ontario County.

Ravines Wine Cellars has two locations: On Seneca Lake at 400 Barracks Road, Geneva, (315) 781-7007; on Keuka Lake at 14630 State Route 54, Hammondsport, (607) 292-7007.
