For all of you arenacross fans out there, this weekend in Denver is going to be a big one for you!
Despite some inclement conditions that is completely typical of spring in the Mile High City, there is no doubt that you will be plenty warm in the comfort of the stands at the Denver Coliseum.
Tonight and Saturday night, the AMA Arenacross Championship Series is taking over the Coliseum. An event that is fueled with high speeds, bar banging action, and all the dirt you could ever wish for, this event is sure to be fun for the entire family. This weekend marks the final leg of a 3 month series for the AMA Arenacross tour. Dozens of racers have been battling it out on the dirt for their chance on the podium. These next two days will mark the crowning of a new champion. Sunday will round it all off with a day packed full of amateur racing.
If you are new to the sport of arenacross, think of it in these terms. Motocross is strictly an outdoor event and typically a much larger track. Supercross is held in an indoor arena, comparable to the size of a football field. Arenacross is also held indoors but in a ring the size of a hockey or basketball court. An AX track is much smaller and tighter than the other previous two but just as competitive. While some may argue that AX is like the minor leagues of the sport, there is no chance that you will be a disappointed spectator.
So grab the family, invite all of your friends and head over to the Denver Coliseum. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online and admission for kids is only $10!
