The unofficial “Fantasica” wiki and in game messages have confirmed that a new event is now live in the game. This event is the first Arena event, and the event began on March 25, 2013. The event will last until March 29, 2013.
This new event is a style that has not been used before (in the American version). Arena events involve players selecting up to 7 of their own units to battle in an arena. The players create the team, and then enter the arena after saving the team (as such, the player cannot change their team after seeing their opponent). This Arena has one caveat: players can only use units whose unit cost is 25 or less. After creating a team, players can use an arena ticket to enter either a tournament style battle or a survival style battle. The tournament pits players in a bracket of 8 opponents, and they must defeat 3 of them in the tournament to be crowned the winner. Upon winning, the player will receive 500 BT points, which adds to their daily and overall ranking. Survival mode pits the player against 10 opponents in a row, each theoretically getting more difficult than the previous one (since the teams are based on real player’s teams, the 10th opponent could actually be easier than the first). The player has the option to resign between battles, but if they can defeat all 10 opponents, they will receive 3000 BT points and 6000 Luna. This mode is risky as, if the player loses, they will lose the chance to earn any BT points for that round.
Arena tickets are required to participate in the arena battles. These tickets can be obtained by either buying card packs or by doing training. Chests in training have a chance to have the tickets in them.
The arena event has also unlocked new abilities for some older units. These units are: Johann, Zenobia, Bernhard, Leevi, Vilhelm, Thrain, and Charles. These abilities will only work in the arena event, so these units will still have no ability during the regular part of the game.
There are two ways to earn rewards in the Arena. The first is through the Daily ranking bonus. The Daily ranking adds up all the BT points that the player earned during that day and gives them prizes if they have the required number of points. These rewards can be earned every day, and the player’s daily ranking resets each day. Daily prizes include: Premium Tickets, 4 Star Tickets, Ambrosia, Time Elixirs, Potions, and Arena Tickets. The other method is via the player’s overall ranking. Overall ranking takes into account all the player’s BT points they have earned during the event, and prizes will be given after the event is over. The prizes for overall ranking include: Arcadia (6 Star Unit), Patrick (5 Star Unit), Mabel (4 Star Unit), Ambrosia, 4 Star Tickets, Premium Tickets, and Time Elixirs.
