According to Wrestlezone, the Smoothie King Center (formerly known as the New Orleans Arena) issued a warning yesterday to ticket holders for tonight’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony which is a part of WWE’s weeklong Wrestlemania XXX festivities.
Welcome to Wrestlemania 30 weekend and the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony!!!
Please show the proper respect to the WWE Superstars and Hall of Fame Inductees when they are on stage speaking. There will be no inappropriate behavior, cat calls or chants of any kind tolerated at all. Violation of this policy will result in immediate ejection from The Smoothie King Center without warning.
Thank you and enjoy the 2014 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Wrestlemania 30.
This may be an internal maneuver by WWE or the Smoothie King Center to manage the fans attending tonight’s ceremony to get a more award show-like vibe for the event which will be broadcasted live for the first time on the new WWE Network. In the past WWE has asked fans attending the annual Hall of Fame ceremony to refrain behavior that is usually encouraged during wrestling events and to dress in formal attire.
This warning by Smoothie King Center is interesting in that language is fairly direct and not a sociable request that fans not get raucous. This could make an awkward scene at a night that is supposed to be defined by a classy celebration of pro wrestling’s biggest legends.
This year’s WWE Hall of Fame class includes the Ultimate Warrior, Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts, Razor Ramon, Lita, Carlos Colon, Paul Bearer and celebrity honoree Mr. T. Previous inducted hall of famers like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Jim Ross, and Trish Stratus are set to attend the event along with almost eveyrone on the WWE roster in town for WM30.
Wrestllemania XXX airs live on pay-per-view and the WWE Network from the Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday at 6pm C. There wil be a 2 hour live pre-show starting at 4pm C. You can read a full list of confirmed matches for this year’s ‘Super Bowl of WWE’ in this link.
