The snow has begun in the return of the polar vortex. Throughout the Northeast, travel is delayed and temperatures are dangerously low. Massachusetts is no exception.

The State of the State address was canceled, along with many activities. In Western Massachusetts, National Grid has has already issued a warning to customers in need of electronically powered medical equipment that the power may be interrupted. The area is under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

It is advisable to stay indoors in these conditions. Standard transit, as well as paratransit, may be delayed. Transit stops and sidewalks may be unsholveled. This might be the perfect time to try Peapod or another grocery delivery service. Many of these have no charge delivery. Be sure to call or check the website of anywhere you might be going to insure the location is open and the event is still happening.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a day devoted to reading that book you’ve wanted, calling your long lost friend, or leveling up in World of Warcraft. Many schools and businesses are preemptively closing due to Janus.
