The Dawson County High School (DCHS) music department as well Jefferson School has received some nice Christmas gifts from benefactors this month.
At the Monday board meeting, the Glendive trustees accepted a $1,500 from Dr. Huebl. Dr. Huebl's parents, Hubert and Idamae Huebl were former music instructors at DCHS. $500 will go toward band amplifiers, $500 toward microphone and computer software for the music department, and $500 toward the Huebl Awards in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Huebl.
$4,600 was also donated to the music department from an American Ford fundraiser, Drive One For Your School. The fundraiser was arranged by board trustee David Hill, owner of American Ford in Glendive.
Exxon Mobile also donated $500 via Whistle Stop to the High School and an additional $500 to Jefferson School for a total of $1000.
The Nibs and Edna Allen Foundation provided $500 for Jefferson School to obtain a Document Camera. A document camera canbe described as an overhead projector on steriods. It makes it possible for teachers to show a class very small three dimensional objects on a large 2-dimensional screen.
The board thanked all the donors for their support of the Dawson County schools.
