Ransomville native Erick “Easy E” Rudolph took home the checkered flag Tuesday night from the inaugural 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series 358 Modified race at New Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario, along with a $4,000 check for his efforts. Mat Williamson finished second, followed by Pete Bicknell, Chad Brachmann and Mike Bowman.
"I knew it wouldn’t be easy but the car came around the second half of the race” stated Rudolph in victory lane.
Rudolph took the lead from Williamson with four laps to go, leading the runner-up to say he was “was too good too early” in the 100 lapper.
“We were working so hard on the car we changed practically everything on it,” said Bicknell.
Bwman, Rudolph and Williamson won their respective heat races Tuesday night.
In other Tuesday night action, Billy Bleich Jr. took the checkered flag in the J.C. Auto Street Stock class, while Tyler Lafantaisie won in the TC Decals Mini Stock class.
New Humberstone Speedway hosts a regular racing card on Sunday, July 6th, also featuring Vintage Cars and a kids’ poster contest; gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, July 9th, the first Crash for Cash event of the season starts at 7 p.m. Find out more about these events and the rest of the season’s schedule at www.humberstonespeedway.com.
