Are you an art collector? Do you love cats? If so, here is a great way to support a local rescue group based in Raritan, New Jersey.
Artist Lynnette Shelley recently adopted kitty Magnus, a beautiful Maine Coon mix, from Cat Adoption and Pet Information Center in Raritan, otherwise known as C.A.P.I.C. Cats. An artist specializing in the fusion of animals, mythology and fairytales, Lynnette was inspired to create “The Muse” as pictured to the left, and offer prints for sale to the general public with a portion of the proceeds being donated directly to C.A.P.I.C. Cats.
Each signed and matted print is priced at $30 plus $7 domestic shipping. International shipping is also available. Because these are on-demand prints, please allow up to 7 business days before artwork is shipped. Visit this page to order.
C.A.P.I.C. is made up of a group of volunteers who specialize in TNR (Trap Neuter Return). The group is led by Rhonda Baginski, President and Joan Beard, Vice President. They are a 501C3 Accredited Charity. They gladly accept monetary donations as well as cat food, towels, and bedding. Visit C.A.P.I.C. Cats for a complete Wish List. New volunteers are always welcome.
C.A.P.I.C.’s mission is to help local residents who have a feral or free-roaming cat problem, often times helping solve the unwanted cat/kitten problem by trap/neuter/spay/return and adoptions. All monies donated are used for medical and food expenses. They have no paid employees.
Said Hope Valenti, C.A.P.I.C. spokesperson and webmaster, “We have rescued over 120 kittens and TNR’d hundreds of cats from 2011 to date. We pay for all the vetting and welcome donations. We can assure each donator that every cent is used for the cats. We save the cats, we help people. That's what we do. We always need new foster homes, as every cat we can get off the street and adopted makes room for another.”
Can you help this worthy cause? Buy a print, make a donation, and follow them on Facebook to stay informed of their activities. Maybe there is an adoptable kitten or cat waiting there just for you.
