When we look to the skies, we often wonder if there is alien life in this huge universe we live in. Conspiracy theorists have, for years, believed that there are aliens kept in a secret government building, inside Area 51. Area 51 is believed to house alien space craft, aliens and a host of other alien secrets kept by the government.
Area 51 does exist and has been mapped for years. Now government documents have been released to the public, under the Freedom of Information Act. The information states the area lies 125 miles northwest of Las Vegas is not filled with alien ships or autopsy tables with dissected aliens. Documents claim it is a testing ground for Cold War aerial surveillance.
According to reports, Area 51 is a site where the government implemented the OXCART and U-2 surveillance programs during the Cold War. These programs were used to spy on areas around the world, including the Soviet Union.
For hardcore conspiracy theorists, the documents released under the court order filed by Jeffrey T. Richelson, will not suffice in the quest to discover exactly what is going on behind the gates surrounding Area 51. Richelson is a senior fellow at the National Security Archives. He filed the request in 2005 to assist him in understanding aerial surveillance programs. He was uncertain as to why the documents contained fewer edits than the previous version declassified by the agency.
Area 51 has not been a well-kept secret over the years. Its direct location is found through the use of books on aerial surveillance and it is referenced in popular culture quite often. The map’s reference to Area 51 in the CIA documents is exact to the Google Map search for the same. Area 51 hasn’t been secretly kept from those who wish to know where it is located.
From the media sources of this article alone, it is hardly believable that Area 51 would not house some type of alien secret. Comments raved about the government declassifying Area 51 only after they have moved aliens to another resting site. Others state they have witnessed UFO’s on a personal level and will never believe the government doesn’t have knowledge that aliens exist.
Could there be an Area 51 duplicate elsewhere? Are aliens non-existent? Were the release of these documents specifically set with only certain information? While the appearance of the documents may seem to be a giant leap forward in the Area 51 rumors, this may only be the beginning.
