One of the more outdated views out there in the world of nutrition is the belief that there is one perfect diet for people to follow. By looking at what humans have eaten over the millennia, experts often proclaim that they've discovered the perfect ratios of this or that, advising that we all need to meet the latest guidelines or else. In my own experience as a health coach I've discovered quite the opposite: there are as many perfect diets out there as there are people on planet Earth. These perfect diets seldom remain the same, either. They're always in a state of flux, changing from day to day, season to season as we move through our lives. That said, I've often wondered what effects will take place generations from now as a result of having more variety in our human diets than we did, say, a few hundred years ago.
