Get ready for Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade on Greenville Avenue 2013!

It is with deepest regret that I inform you of the demise of the Greenville St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It’s true, 2012’s event will forever be known as its last. Instead, make way for the Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade on Greenville Avenue! Yep, after 25 long years of being known as the city’s definitive St. Patrick’s Day parade, the event has changed names for 2013. (Check out their fancy new logo above.) Why the change? Don’t ask me; I still have problems understanding how St. Paddy's Day morphed from being a church sanctioned holiday into the green wig-wearing, beer-swilling drunkfest that it is today. However, it’s an important celebration. With the cold season fizzling out, gone too are the early year commitments to self-betterment and the Lent-fueled promises of temperance. Back again is warmer weather and the return to our former bacchanalian ways. Yippee! Looking to join up with about 100,000 other emerald-clad hell raisers for some good old-fashioned beer drinking and shenanigans in Dallas this St. Patrick’s Day? Here are the details on this year’s Greenville St. Patrick’s Day Parade, oops, I mean Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade on Greenville Avenue 2013.
