Have you ever been recommended by a doctor or an online website that a certain diet could help you shed those unwanted pounds in four to six weeks, with minimal exercise and then you followed the diet to a “T” and showed little to no results? Well if you have then you are not alone.
Actually, statistics show that 95% of people that try dieting either show little to no improvement and those that do lose the weight generally end up regaining the weight back within six months. Why is this? Well, some people become frustrated with their same diet plan and eventually the bland food choices, depending on the plan, can begin to disgust the dieter; in many cases, people aren’t able to ration the amounts of food that they should eat in comparison to the amount of their regular cravings. Well that’s okay. There is hope in the horizon; you just have to see the sunrise to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
What most of these diet plans aren’t telling you or they are but they’re under selling it, is that the food in a diet is important but it is no where near as important as the amount of liquids you consume in a days time. Now some sources suggest drinking six to eight tall glasses of water a day, which equals no less than two pints and up to four pints in a single days time.
For most people this becomes a problem because the every day Joe does not have the time in their fast paced life to drink that much water and since one in five people suffer from an over active bladder, is losing weight really worth taking so many bathroom breaks?
Instead of trying small meals or large amount of water, try drinking something such as coconut, soy or almond milk. Sure, most people think they sound terrible or perhaps many refrain from trying such things because of the extra price that goes with it; however, either has more calcium and vitamin D than most types of regular milk.
Plus, the unsweetened varieties have no added fat but just a small glass full can fill even the biggest of people. Many find the taste of lactose free milks similar to low fat milk and each can hydrate you just as well as regular purified water.
Sixty percent of the time when you feel hungry, you’re merely thirsty; however, people misread the signals being sent from their brains and they just add fuel to the fire. Try it for two weeks and see the difference; besides, what else do you have to lose but time and weight?
