Field and Stream

Are you good at archery, shooting guns and an awesome fisherman? Here’s your chance to show off your outdoorsman skills and have a chance at winning a grand prize of $25,000.00! The Field and Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge 2010 is presented by Mobil 1, and will be held at Bass Pro Shops, in Bolingbrook, Illinois this weekend on April 17 and 18 (Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. In its seventh year, this competition is held nationwide and the goal is to find the man or woman with the most competent outdoor skills; earning the title of “Total Outdoorsman”.

Competitors can enter the challenge for free and the event is open to the public. This weekend, you will register at the local qualifying event; bring your own bow and arrows, and fishing pole (if you want). Air rifles will be provided for the competition. You will shoot five arrows at a bulls eye at 60 ft, and five air rifle shots at a bulls eye at 40 feet. The fishing competition distance in Quals will be approximately 50 feet into target in the pond in front of the store.

Win the qualifying competition at your local Bass Pro Shops Store (Bolingbrook, Illinois - Portage, Indiana - Gurnee, Illinois) and you’ll advance to compete at one of the four Regional series competitions, which will be held across the country. Don’t get too cozy! Once you reach the regional event, it gets more challenging as 200 participants will need to showcase your rifle, shotgun, endurance, bass-fishing, archery and ATV handling skills. The top three regional finishers from the qualifiers will face off against the top three from the 2009 Total Outdoorsman Challenge, as well as a “wild-card” competitor who will be selected from an online registration.

All skills levels are invited to compete! This is not a competition just for pros! Competitors looking for more information can check out Total Outdoorsman Challenge training tip videos at www.totaloutdoorsmanchallenge.com.
