With springtime comes sunshine, warmer weather and ahhchoo! Those dreaded allergies. If you or your kids receive a constant reminder of the pollen count while financially supporting the Kleenex brand, I’m right there with you! But being proactive can help this season more tolerable that last.
- Get prepared and start taking your allergy medications. There are many over-the-counter allergy medications that now have special children’s formulas. Get their immune response built early instead of playing catch up later in the season
- Pay attention to your surroundings. Watch the pollen count and play family trips or adventures outside accordingly. At the very least, keep the screen down if windows are open, but you might be better off with the windows closed altogether. Vacuum the house regularly and make sure the dog isn’t tracking anything with regular baths.
Fear not. As a long-time survivor of seasonal allergies, rest assured you're children will make it through. There might be the occasional rough day, but with the right medication and proactive attitude, don't let seasonal allergies hold you back and enjoy the weather!
