Are we subsidizing the break-up of our own country?

The release of political fund raising numbers for all the national political parties this week has sparked the debate once again over the per-vote subsidy.

While the Conservatives, Liberals, NDP and even the Green Party bring in millions from donors, the Bloc Quebecois mostly lives off of taxpayer subsidy. Is this right or wrong?

A Sun Media editorial says this kind of subsidy should end.

Yep, the separatists that got the support of nearly 40% of Quebec voters in the last federal election couldn't even manage to bring in $100,000 in the last quarter.

But they needn't worry, because we're supporting them to the tune of 90% of the money they brought in that period, nearly $700,000.
