In anticipation of the most watched football game of the year, Super Bowl 2014, are people running out and buying new TV's? According to one new survey: No.

DealNews polled more than 1200 readers who said the Super Bowl wasn't a big incentive to buy a new television, while Black Friday and Christmas were much bigger motivators for buying new big screens. The majority of people polled (50%) said they bought their sets in November or December during those hot holiday sales. Only five percent of people who bought a TV in 2013 purchased it in January right before the big game.
